Nasher sculpture center is a beautiful museum in the heart of Dallas, Texas. The Nasher sculpture is a beautiful specimen of modern architecture, designed by Renzo Piano. He used glass and marble to create this beautiful building. The museum houses Patsy and Raymond Nasher’s collection of sculptures.
History
Patsy and Raymond started collecting sculptures around 1950, they had artwork from Richard, Serra, Joan, Jonathan, Picasso, and many more renowned artists. The collection grew so big that it could no more be contained in the collector’s houses and malls. The lack of storage space led to the idea of the Nasher sculpture center. In 2003, the Nasher sculpture center opened to the world.

Head of a Woman by Pablo Picasso
This piece is one of Picasso’s flat sculptures collection. This piece beautifully captures a woman’s head in a thinking pose. Though the colors are non-naturalistic, it’s still a piece from great Picasso and is surreal.

This sculpture depicts a common occurrence in daily life, a group of six city people in the middle of their everyday commute, traveling thoughtlessly. It beautifully demonstrates the hustle and bustle of city life. The sculpture also tries to convey the common man’s emotions like nervousness, fatigue, and isolation.
The kiss by Constantin Brancusi
This sculpture is considered to be the first modern sculpture of the 20th century. The sculpture tries to convey how beautiful is the union of two people. The sculpture is carved out of a single stone and cuts into two figures representing the union. The sculpture expresses sentiments of love, affection, passion and romance. This piece is one of Brancusi’s greatest artworks.
Bronze crowd by Magdalena Abakanowicz
This piece is cast in bronze and has thirty-six headless humanoids standing right next to each other. Magdalena was brought up in Poland during world war second. She expresses her feelings as a child in the form of the Bronze Crowd. The crowd represents the people of Poland, how they could not speak for themselves, were manipulated, and acted like brainless organisms.
